My Favorite Weekend of the Year!

First, let me just let out a big sigh of relief! The Awareness Day event at the University is over and everything went as planned. I am grateful for my experience planning restaurant Christmas parties and catering events. I know that came in handy! Everyone involved showed up (another relief) and those that attended (over 350) learned something. I am receiving many positive comments throuh email and my boss and his boss were also thrilled with the results so I'm happy and ready to move on to my next project.

Yesterday was my favorite holiday. Halloween has always been one of those things that just makes me smile. There is no pressure with Halloween. Dressing up allows you to pretend to be someone else for a little while. There is a bit of escape whether you choose to dress in costume yourself or you enjoy the costume of someone else. It's a day where a little piece of candy will make a kid's eyes sparkle. Amazing how the same piece of candy on another day just isn't the same. Speaking of candy, Bill and I had a only a small amount of trick or treaters this year. By my count 25 or 30. We planned on more kids because the last couple of years we have almost run out of candy but I guess it was not to be this year. Maybe it was the weather. We did have some rain - not heavy rain but threatening sprinkles. I guess the rain could have scared some of the kids and parents more than the ghosts and goblins. Anyway, I still enjoyed it. Alec and Katy came trick or treating when they were finished with their neighborhood and Katy showed me how to make a lava lamp! It was pretty cool! Alysa called me after she got back from her adventure of trick or treating and let me know she had a really great time and got lots of candy. I love Halloween!!

Today is my second favorite day of the year...we gain an hour! That's right! We go off Daylight Saving's Time. I love gaining another hour! I like having another hour to sleep because sleeping is another one of my favorite things. I'm so excited, I'm going to change the clocks as soon as I'm finished with this blog.
