In Like a Lion and Out Like a Lion!

March was a great month and it came and disappeared quickly but it was full of wonderful memories and smiles!
Where do I start...I applied for a new job with the University of Utah as a Senior Trainer with the Compliance and Security office. I'm not unhappy with my other Training job but this position looked liked a great opportunity to explore. So I submitted my application and waited to see if anything came of it. I got an interview and much to my surprise, I received the call for a second one. The second interview involved a 45 minute presentation from a scenario that I was given on how to train faculty, staff and students of the University of Utah on a policy regarding downloading copyrighted material. I did quite a bit of research and I presented several different ways I would communicate the information, including a little detective mascot that would appear on websites, posters, flyers, etc., and this mascot would even appear at events handing out $2.00 iPod downloads so that everyone could see how easy it was to do downloading the right way. Anyway, they seemed to like my presentation because...I got the job!! Here is a link to the new Org Chart with my name on it: http://www.compliance.utah.edu/about/index.html. I hope you can at least copy and paste it. Anyway, I'm excited and after 17 years at the University Hospital, I now have a job that covers both the Hospital and the University Campus.
Next, I was excited to participate in the marriage of Beth and Mark. After much anticipation, the day was beautiful and many thanks (especially to sisters, brother-in-laws, and nieces of mine) for all the hard work behind the scenes. I know how hard you work!! Much love goes into the hours of preparation and clean up and I want you to know I notice how much you do. I love you for all you do for me.
For the wedding, I had my wonderful family in town - all of us together for the first time in two years!! We had wedding activities as well as family activities.
One of my favorite activities had to be the Easter Egg hunt at Grandma's house! I love that tradition! But this year was special because all 11 grandchildren were able to participate! I loved watching everyone scramble for their 35! candy-filled eggs! I don't know who's smiles were bigger - mine or the kids! I'm glad everyone could attend. What a great day!!
Sunday, Bill and I were able to go to church and hear my Dad give his Easter talk. I think this is my favorite talk that Dad gives. He spends time talking about Jesus' last hours before he is crucified. He also talks about Jesus on the cross and then he rejoices at the Resurrection. Just thinking about this makes me emotional. Jesus has always been my hero. Of all people, I look up to him the most. If I could be like anyone, I would choose Jesus. Sunday was a great day. I really look up to my Dad too. He is a gentle giant. Anytime I can hear his testimony, I am lifted.
That same day, my Washington kids went home and I really felt the heartstrings pull. I wanted them to stay. The very next day, my London kids left and the silence in the house was weird. And there went the heartstrings again. I'm not so good at saying goodbye. Two days later, I'm sick as 10 pigs. I went to the doctor and I got an anti-biotic. I end up in bed for 4 1/2 days.
I get feeling better and one of the best things about the month of March is the 31st. First of all we get about 4 inches of snow - what a great surprise, but the bestest thing of all is that Bill and I celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary! Bill is awesome! And to think, without Bill, the month of March wouldn't have been nearly as fun!
